"Curious"

People always say that at just shy of 2 years old, kids are too young to be naughty but rather they're "curious"...I beg to differ.  It can actually be quite impressive of what that little mind can come up with, and even though sometimes I just want to laugh...it's still naughty.  As of lately (ok, maybe since he was mobile), Lincoln has been a little adventurer.  Maybe he's been watching too much Curious George or simply the fact he's almost 2, but Lincoln has been finding trouble.

One of the latest:  Lincoln vs. the Cereal (and mom)

I leave the room for a minute and he decides to help himself to a snack.  And then dump it all over.  When asked to help me clean it up, he looked at me and and swooshed the pile around even further.  Ugh.

Don't let this look fool you.

The Latest:  Lincoln vs. the Slide

I think it looks much worse than it is, but Lincoln took a tumble at daycare today.  Lincoln is usually 2 going on 6 on the playground.  He is too brave for his own good...clearly.  Today he was so excited about going down the slide that half way down he started to get up and fell, landing on his face.  Luckily he didn't land on a toy or anything sharp.  Instead, after a little TLC he was back running around and playing when I picked him up.

Poor guy!

Sunny and 70s

This week is my Spring Break from school, and just so happens to be gorgeous out!  Lincoln and I are enjoying our time together, and even taking in some of this awesome spring weather!  He put on many miles running and "riding" his tricycle...he doesn't really pedal yet, but nonetheless hard work.

Bridge's Bay

This weekend,Troy and I took Lincoln to Bridge's Bay in Okoboji, Iowa.  A couple months ago we ran across a great package on Deal Garden and thought this would be a perfect weekend away!  Lincoln quickly learned the word "pool" and used it frequently...as in every time we weren't in the waterpark area.  He was SO excited to put his swimsuit on and lifejacket.  It didn't take long for him to get comfortable in the water...he had no fear.  I'm not sure if this is going to be a good or bad thing this summer (we may have our hands full at the lake!).  We went down every slide...several dozens of times, jumped off every ledge, floated down the lazy river, shot baskets in the deep end, and even got dumped on a few times by a 500 gallon water bucket!  He was exhausted by the end of our stay...as were we.

In addition to the pool excitement, Lincoln got his own "real" bed at the hotel.  Needless to say he will NOT be getting a big boy bed anytime soon.  We played switch-a-roo the entire night....it was the night of the slumber party (that my body is still paying for)!

Lincoln ready to go on Day 1
Floating down the lazy river with mom
 Riding the whale

Even started climbing everything by himself
 He LOVED this slide!
 Swimming is exhausting..
 Day 2!
Daddy and Lincoln in the waterpark
 Spider-man
 Another favorite slide
He even got brave enough to go down on his tummy
 Such a big boy!

On the go...

My life is busy...all the time.  I am constantly on the go and preparing for the next thing.  I drop Lincoln off at daycare, sit in school all day, pick up Lincoln from daycare, run errands, get stuff done around the house, study, do homework, play with Lincoln, catch up with Troy, help with bathtime, and get Lincoln ready for bed.  Then I do it all over the next day.

Somewhere in there we squeeze in meal time...something that most definitely has been lacking lately.  This goes on until I feel guilty and put a little time into meal planning but then to have the time to actually prepare the food is another thing.  I'm not the "quick whip something up" type of person.  I need a recipe for almost everything except tator tot casserole...

Exhibit A:

Yup...that's Mac & Cheese, but at least I addded in some brussel sprouts, right?
Lincoln was not a fan of the brussel sprouts...at all.

Aunt Courtney!

Wishing Aunt Courtney a very happy 21st birthday!!  We miss you!!

Remind Me Who I Am

Love this song...such a good reminder that no matter what we label ourselves as or what our circumstances may be, we are beloved in His eyes.
